National Address on the Progress Made in the Application of National Values and Principles — 2023
📍 National Assembly, Lusaka
Madam Speaker,
In accordance with Article 9(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Zambia, we are pleased to join this august House to report on the progress made in the application of National Values and Principles.
Since assuming office, we have made significant progress in rebuilding our economy, restoring fiscal discipline, and creating the conditions for sustainable growth. We have engaged with our creditors and reached important milestones in our debt restructuring process.
We have continued to invest in education, health, and social protection. Our free education policy has transformed the lives of millions of Zambian families. We have recruited teachers and health workers, built hospitals and schools, and expanded access to clean water and sanitation.
We remain firmly committed to fighting corruption, upholding the rule of law, and protecting the democratic rights of all Zambians. We have strengthened our institutions and restored confidence in our governance system.
Madam Speaker, we thank the people of Zambia for their patience, resilience and support as we navigate the challenges before us. Together, we will build the Zambia we all deserve.
God bless Zambia.
