Speech During the Opening of the Third Session of the Thirteenth National Assembly
📍 National Assembly, Lusaka
Madam Speaker,
We are honoured to address this august House on the occasion of the opening of the Third Session of the Thirteenth National Assembly.
In our two years in office, we have made significant strides in reviving our economy. We have restored macroeconomic stability, made progress in debt restructuring, and attracted significant new investment in mining, agriculture, energy and tourism.
We have delivered on our promise of free education, with millions of additional learners returning to school. We have recruited thousands of teachers and health workers. We have invested in roads, hospitals, schools and water infrastructure across all provinces.
Our efforts to fight corruption are yielding results. Zambia's corruption perception index score has improved significantly. We are building a culture of integrity and accountability in public life.
Madam Speaker, the road ahead requires continued unity, hard work and determination. We are confident that working together, we will achieve our vision of a prosperous, equitable and resilient Zambia.
It is now my honour to declare the Third Session of the Thirteenth National Assembly officially opened.
God bless Zambia.
