Speech During the Opening of the Second Session of the Thirteenth National Assembly
📍 National Assembly, Lusaka
Madam Speaker,
We are honoured to once again address this august House on the occasion of the opening of the Second Session of the Thirteenth National Assembly.
In our first year in office, we have made significant progress in stabilising the economy. We have engaged with our creditors and international partners to restructure our debt. We have restored investor confidence and attracted new investment to Zambia.
We have expanded access to education through our free education policy, which has seen millions of additional learners return to school. We have recruited thousands of teachers and health workers. We have invested in roads, hospitals and schools across the country.
We remain committed to fighting corruption and restoring integrity in public life. We will continue to uphold the rule of law and protect the rights and freedoms of all Zambians.
Madam Speaker, it is now my honour to declare the Second Session of the Thirteenth National Assembly officially opened.
God bless Zambia.
