President Hichilema undertook a State Visit to Japan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. He held bilateral talks with PM Ishiba focusing on trade, renewable energy, healthcare and education. He paid a courtesy call on Emperor Naruhito at the Imperial Palace, addressed the Zambia-Japan Business Forum in Tokyo, and visited multinational companies in Nagoya and Kyoto, including a cultural visit to the Kinkakuji Temple. Several Memoranda of Understanding were signed in strategic sectors.
